Georgia Juvelis to Step Down as Chief Communications Officer for AMC Global Media

Georgia Juvelis will step down as chief communications officer of AMC Global Media at the end of 2026, closing a 19-year tenure at the company that owns AMC Network, AMC+, IFC, SundanceTV, BBC America and other brands. Juvelis shared the news in an internal memo.

Her departure also marks a structural change in how the company handles communications. Her position will not be filled, and the company is moving away from a centralized communications structure. Instead, the communications teams will shift to report into the individual business units they serve, with each business operating its own comms team.

Juvelis’ exit comes after nearly two decades at the company, during which she oversaw communications across a sprawling portfolio of cable networks, streaming services and international channels. The decision to stop filling the top communications role and decentralize the function reflects a broader effort within the company to put decision-making closer to its individual brands.

The move arrives as the media company continues to reshape its operations across linear television and streaming. Juvelis’ long tenure made her one of the more familiar communications executives in the cable and entertainment industry, and her departure leaves the company without a single leader responsible for speaking for the group as a whole.
