Taylor Kitsch, Alexandra Daddario and Christopher Walken will star in the true-crime thriller "The Long Island Bank Robber." The project was presented at the American Film Market, and Deadline reported the casting as an exclusive.
The film is based on a true story and is set on Long Island in the state of New York. Kitsch takes on the role of Stephen Trantel, a former commodities trader on Wall Street. After losing his job, he turns to bank robbery to provide for his family. He becomes an exceptionally prolific bank robber on Long Island.
Daddario plays Jeanne Trantel, Stephen's wife. She begins to doubt her husband and at the same time wants to find her own path beyond her home. Walken portrays Stephen's father, a retired police officer with a strong moral compass. As a result, the story focuses not only on the perpetrator but also on the environment that influences and calls into question his behavior.
Kitsch was most recently seen in "Lone Survivor." Daddario became best known for "The White Lotus." Walken, an Oscar winner, is known among other things for "The Deer Hunter."
It remains unclear when filming will begin and when the film is set to be released. It is also not known which studio or distributor is backing the project. The real bank robber on whom the story is based has not been disclosed either.
