Li Jun Li will play Maxine Tao, described as a brilliant con artist who becomes entangled in a dark web of power, luxury and danger. The series is set in the cutthroat world of San Francisco's elite, where ambition and deception collide. Lane's specific role has not yet been announced.
Hall created and wrote the series, whose credits include «I Am Not Okay with This». The project marks another high-profile limited series for Hulu, which has invested heavily in star-driven thrillers in recent years. Onyx Collective, a Disney-backed studio focused on creators of color, is producing alongside Counterpart Studios.
The casting of Lane brings a veteran film and television actor to the project. Lane earned an Academy Award nomination for «Unfaithful» and has appeared in «The Perfect Storm», «Under the Tuscan Sun» and «Man of Steel».
