Amy Schumer is closing out the summer with a confident splash, sharing unfiltered bikini photos on Instagram that have drawn an outpouring of support from fans and fellow celebrities. The 45-year-old comedian and actress posted the pictures over the weekend while enjoying time by the water, smiling at the camera in a colorful two-piece during a recent getaway. «I never knew there would be days like this,» she wrote in the post, adding: «No filter as per ushe.»
Friends and fans were quick to respond. Actress Kate Walsh commented, «So beautiful, Amy. Happy and thriving,» while other social media users wrote «Gorgeous» and similar messages of encouragement. The praise marks the latest chapter in Schumer's unusually open relationship with her audience about body image, health and the ups and downs of her weight-loss efforts over the past two years.
The comedian has documented both the highs and lows of that journey in public. In October, she shared a photo from a Paul McCartney concert in Las Vegas that showed her in a tiny black dress and heels with two friends. The post drew enthusiastic responses, including a comment from comedian Anjelah Johnson and a compliment from actress Isla Fisher about Schumer's legs.
Her latest update comes after months of weighing different treatment options. In March 2025, Schumer, who is mother to a young son with ex-husband Chris Fischer, posted a video praising Mounjaro, also known as tirzepatide, and said she had tried it through a telehealth meeting with MidiHealth. She called the treatment affordable and said she wanted to recommend it to friends who are nurses and teachers. Mounjaro is an injectable medication primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes.
Schumer has also said her routine included hormones. She explained that she had been placed on estrogen and progesterone after realizing she was in perimenopause, and that her symptoms had disappeared. The actress has stressed that finding the right combination took trial and error.
During a previous appearance on «The Howard Stern Show,» Schumer recalled a difficult experience with weight-loss medication. She said she carries a gene called GDF15 that makes her extremely prone to nausea, which also made her severely ill while she was pregnant. After trying Ozempic nearly three years ago, she became bedridden and kept vomiting, despite losing 30 pounds quickly. «I looked great, and I couldn't lift my head off the pillow, so what's the point?» she said at the time.
Schumer's medical history has been a recurring topic in the public eye. In February 2024, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with Cushing syndrome after fans questioned visible swelling in her face. She later described the diagnosis as a blessing because it led doctors to identify an underlying cause.
The «Trainwreck» star has also spoken openly about living with endometriosis and undergoing a hysterectomy in 2021. Over the years, she has used humor to respond to comments about her appearance and has encouraged women to focus on their health rather than unrealistic beauty standards, often saying she hopes her candid updates help normalize conversations about women's medical issues.
