Slow Horses Adds Five Actors to Season 7 Cast
Apple TV's Emmy-winning spy drama Slow Horses has cast Varada Sethu, Ethan Moorhouse, Tuppence Middleton, Merab Ninidze and Joshua McGuire for its seventh season, joining Gary Oldman and the returning ensemble.
Apple TV's Emmy-winning spy drama «Slow Horses» has added five actors to its Season 7 cast, led by Varada Sethu and Tuppence Middleton. The newcomers join star Gary Oldman and the show's established ensemble as the series continues its run as one of the streamer's most acclaimed dramas.
Sethu, recently seen as Ann Baxter in «The Other Bennet Sister», has also appeared in «Andor» and «Jurassic World: Dominion». Middleton's credits include «The Forsytes», «Downton Abbey: A New Era» and «Mank». The pair headline the new additions announced for the upcoming season.
They are joined by Ethan Moorhouse, whose recent work includes «The Moment» and «Ludwig», and Merab Ninidze, known for «Homeland» and «The Courier». BAFTA nominee Joshua McGuire, whose credits include «The Gold» and «Anatomy of a Scandal», rounds out the five new cast members.
The casting news signals that production on Season 7 is moving forward with a mix of rising and established screen talent. «Slow Horses» follows a team of disgraced intelligence agents relegated to a dumping ground department of MI5, with Oldman playing the irascible Jackson Lamb. The show has built a following for its blend of espionage plotting and dark workplace comedy, and its Emmy recognition has raised its profile among Apple TV's prestige offerings.
Details about the new roles have not been disclosed, and the series has not indicated how the five additions will fit into the season's storyline. The ensemble format of the show, which draws on Mick Herron's novels, has allowed it to rotate in new characters alongside its core cast across seasons.
For the actors involved, the bookings extend busy periods. Sethu has moved between franchise television and film, while Middleton has worked steadily across period drama and prestige film. Ninidze brings international experience from espionage and thriller projects, and McGuire arrives with a BAFTA nomination and a run of high-profile British television credits.
The announcement arrives as streaming platforms continue to lean on returning, critically favored series to anchor their schedules. «Slow Horses» has been among the titles that give Apple TV a recognizable brand in the drama space, and each new season's casting has become a signal of the show's continued health.
No premiere date for Season 7 has been announced. The new cast members join a production that has already secured its place in the awards conversation, and their arrival will be watched closely by the show's dedicated audience as the next chapter takes shape.
