Shakira Extends Madrid Residency With Final Concert After Amazon Music Livestream Record
Shakira has added a final Madrid concert, billed as a Grand Farewell with Friends, extending her Estadio Shakira residency through October 12 after breaking an Amazon Music livestream record. The run has also featured a surprise Dua Lipa duet on Antología.
Shakira has added one last concert to her Madrid residency, extending the run at Estadio Shakira through October 12. The newly announced date is billed as a «Grand Farewell with Friends,» according to the announcement, and follows a record-breaking Amazon Music livestream tied to the residency.
The Colombian superstar launched the Madrid engagement on September 18 as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour. The original schedule called for 12 shows at the stadium, running through October 11. The added farewell date pushes the residency one day further and gives fans in the Spanish capital a final chance to see the production before it moves on.
The residency has already produced a standout moment beyond the headline run of shows. On Saturday, October 3, Dua Lipa joined Shakira on stage for a duet of «Antología,» the 1995 song that has become a touchstone in Shakira's catalog. Lipa's appearance came during Shakira's performance of the track, turning a familiar set piece into a surprise collaboration.
The moment carried extra meaning because Lipa had covered «Antología» last November during a stop in Bogotá, Colombia, on her Radical Optimism tour. That tour featured a recurring segment in which Lipa covered a song by an artist from the country she was playing in, and her choice of Shakira's song drew a public response from Shakira at the time. Shakira shared a clip of the Bogotá performance and wrote that she was moved to hear her song in Lipa's voice in the same city where she wrote it years earlier, adding, «See how music brings us together?»
After the Madrid collaboration, Lipa posted clips and backstage photos from the night, writing in Spanish that she was grateful to be invited on stage to sing «Antología» and that she felt she, Shakira and the audience were one. Shakira replied in the comments, thanking Lipa for traveling to sing with her and calling her a goddess.
The Madrid residency has been a centerpiece of Shakira's current touring cycle. The set has opened with a consistent run of songs including «La fuerte,» the Black Eyed Peas' «GIRL LIKE ME,» «Las de la intuición / Estoy aquí» and «Empire / Inevitable,» before moving into fan favorites such as «Hips Don't Lie» and «She Wolf.» The Dua Lipa duet arrived during the «Antología» segment, briefly shifting the show's emotional register.
The Amazon Music livestream record adds a second headline achievement to the run. The residency has combined stadium-scale production with guest appearances and streaming reach, and the added October 12 date suggests demand around the Madrid shows has not faded as the engagement nears its end.
For Shakira, the extended Madrid stay caps a period in which her touring and catalog have remained central to her public profile. For Lipa, the appearance adds to a run of high-profile collaborations and covers that have become a signature of her recent live shows. The two artists' shared moment on «Antología» now stands as one of the residency's defining performances.
The final Madrid concert is set for October 12 at Estadio Shakira. It follows the previously scheduled closing date of October 11 and brings the residency's total number of shows to 13.
