Sam Fender Teases 2027 UK Stadium Tour With Cryptic Video
Sam Fender appears to have revealed the stadiums for a 2027 UK tour in a Lord of the Rings-inspired social media clip, with Wembley Stadium potentially marking his biggest headline show to date.
Sam Fender has seemingly revealed the stadiums he may play on a 2027 UK tour, including what would be his biggest headline show to date. The North Shields singer shared a new video on social media on October 19, following an advertisement for «SF27» shown during Newcastle United's defeat to Aston Villa at St James' Park over the weekend.
In the Lord of the Rings-inspired clip, two members of his band argue over who gets to launch the pyrotechnics at various stadiums around the country — presumably the venues where Fender will perform on the tour. When they eventually press the button, St James' Park is the first to appear, a venue where the singer played three headline shows in 2025 and two headline dates in 2023. The video also shows Manchester's Etihad Stadium, Ireland's Malahide Castle, Cardiff's Principality Stadium, and Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium. The final venue shown is the 90,000-capacity Wembley Stadium in London, which would mark the biggest headline show Fender has played if confirmed.
«The Beacons Are Lit!» read the caption, and more details are expected to be shared at a later date. The teaser comes amid a huge year for Fender. Although he has not played any headline shows or released new music, he has been awarded Songwriter of the Year at the Ivor Novellos, won Song of the Year at the BRITs 2026, and broken the record for the longest-running UK Number One single of all time with his Olivia Dean duet «Rein Me In».
His last tour saw him raise £50,000 from ticket sales for the charity Youth Music, and he also released a «Live at London Stadium» concert film capturing the huge «People Watching» shows. While no tour dates have been officially announced for 2027, speculation is mounting that Fender could be one of the names confirmed for Glastonbury next summer. Early bookmakers' favourites have included him, along with Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Little Simz, while Harry Styles, Radiohead, Fontaines D.C., Muse and The Rolling Stones are also in the mix. If Fender is confirmed, it would be his first slot at Worthy Farm since 2022.
The cryptic video has fueled excitement among fans, who have been quick to dissect the clip for clues about the potential tour. The inclusion of venues across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland suggests a comprehensive stadium run, though official confirmation is still pending. Fender's camp has not yet commented on the speculation, and it remains unclear whether the video constitutes a formal announcement or simply a teaser. The «SF27» branding first appeared during the Newcastle United match, hinting at a 2027 timeframe for the proposed shows.
Fender's rise has been steady since his debut album «Hypersonic Missiles» in 2019, followed by «Seventeen Going Under» in 2021 and «People Watching» in 2025. The latter spawned the hit single of the same name and cemented his status as one of the UK's most compelling live acts. His ability to sell out stadiums — as evidenced by his 2025 shows at St James' Park — has positioned him among the country's biggest music stars. The potential Wembley date would be a landmark moment in his career, placing him in the company of artists who have headlined the iconic venue.
As anticipation builds, fans will be watching closely for any official announcement. The video's release, combined with the «SF27» advertisement, strongly suggests that a major tour is in the works. For now, the details remain speculative, but the signs point to a significant 2027 for Sam Fender.
