Meshuggah announce 2027 North American 40th anniversary tour with Testament and Blood Incantation
Swedish metal band Meshuggah will mark their 40th anniversary with a 2027 North American tour supported by Testament and Blood Incantation, split into two legs beginning in Toronto.
Swedish progressive metal band Meshuggah are marking their 40th anniversary with a 2027 North American tour, bringing along Testament and Blood Incantation as support acts. The outing, titled “The Forty-Year Anomaly Tour,” is divided into two legs, with the first beginning February 12 in Toronto and running through March 6. The announcement was published by Consequence in October 2026.
The tour pairs one of the most technically demanding bands in extreme metal with two acts that have long shaped the genre. Testament, the Bay Area thrash veterans, bring decades of riff-driven speed metal to the bill, while Blood Incantation, known for expansive, cosmically themed death metal, represents a younger generation of heavy bands drawing wide attention. The lineup underlines how far Meshuggah’s influence has spread since the group formed in Umeå in 1987.
The anniversary framing gives the run a retrospective shape, with the band’s distinctive polyrhythmic and djent-influenced sound at the center of the bill. Meshuggah have frequently been cited as a reference point by musicians working in progressive and modern metal, and a four-decade milestone offers fans a chance to see the group in a celebratory setting on the continent. The tour’s name itself points to the long arc of a band whose approach has rarely followed conventional metal structures.
The release of the tour details comes alongside other entertainment news in the same package. Kings of Leon have announced a one-off London show on November 10 at the British Airways ARC, a 3,800-capacity venue at Olympia London, which opened as a new venue. Tickets are priced at £95 plus booking fees and go on sale Friday, October 30, at 10am GMT, with pre-sale access for those who pre-order the band’s upcoming album, “O My Beloved,” set for release November 6 via Love Tap Records. The album follows “Can We Please Have Fun” from 2024 and was preceded by the single “My Whole World,” followed by “Cold Blue Dawn,” whose video was made in collaboration with the Weather Channel.
Frontman Caleb Followill described the record as looking back on the band’s history. “We have already surpassed anything we ever imagined we could do, and we’ve built something that is so special,” he said. “I thought, wouldn’t it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here.” The London date is the band’s only other 2026 show on that side of the Atlantic and follows a UK tour earlier in the summer with The Snuts, The Lathums and The Royston Club. The group has also headlined Mad Cool 2026 in Madrid and is scheduled to play London’s The O2 next summer, a show celebrating the venue’s 20th year, as well as Isle of Wight 2027 alongside Fatboy Slim and Robbie Williams.
Separately, Vantage Media has acquired North American rights to “Exotic,” a Polish feature about a woman’s journey toward self-discovery through pole dancing, ahead of its premiere at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. The film follows a writer whose attempt to master pole dancing becomes a more personal exploration through the process and the community surrounding it.
