Jane Wiseman Leaves Paramount+ as Merged Streaming Operations Take Shape Under Casey Bloys
Paramount+ EVP and Head of Originals Jane Wiseman is departing after 14 months, following former boss Cindy Holland out as the streamer merges with HBO Max under Casey Bloys.
Jane Wiseman is leaving Paramount+, ending a 14-month run as executive vice president and head of originals at the streamer. Her exit comes as Paramount+ and HBO Max combine operations following Paramount's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, with Casey Bloys set to oversee the merged structure.
Wiseman's departure follows that of her former boss, Cindy Holland, who served as Paramount's chair of direct-to-consumer and left on the eve of the Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition roughly a month ago. Wiseman joined Paramount+ in August 2025, and she will not make the transition into the merged Skydance structure that Bloys outlined to staff on Friday.
Bloys, who revealed his new direct reports in a memo, is now shaping the leadership of a combined streaming operation that brings together two of the industry's most prominent platforms. The reorganization places originals and programming decisions under a single executive hierarchy, a significant shift for the creative teams that develop series for both services.
Wiseman's team will now report into the new structure, according to the announcement. The change affects the executives and producers who shepherd original programming from development through release, a core function for any streamer competing for subscribers and cultural attention.
The timing reflects the broader consolidation reshaping Hollywood's streaming landscape. Paramount's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery set off a chain of executive moves, with Holland's exit serving as an early signal that the merged company would install new leadership atop its direct-to-consumer operations. Wiseman's decision not to remain follows that same pattern.
For Paramount+, the loss of its head of originals comes at a moment when the platform's identity is being folded into a larger corporate structure. Original programming has been a central pillar of streaming strategy, used to attract subscribers and distinguish one service from another. How the merged entity balances the creative slates of Paramount+ and HBO Max under Bloys will be closely watched across the entertainment industry.
Bloys is known for his long tenure overseeing programming at HBO, where he built a reputation for prestige series. His expanded role now places him at the center of a combined operation with a much broader portfolio of brands and audiences.
Neither Wiseman nor Paramount+ has publicly detailed her next steps. The memo from Bloys focused on the new reporting structure rather than individual departures, and the company has not announced a direct replacement for Wiseman's role.
The consolidation also raises questions about the future of development teams across both services, as overlapping functions are typically reviewed during mergers. Executives and creative staff will be watching for further changes as the combined operation settles into its new hierarchy.
Wiseman's exit is the latest in a series of leadership changes set in motion by the merger, and it underscores how quickly the streaming business is being reorganized around fewer, larger corporate owners.
