James Norton, Danny Dyer and Cynthia Erivo Set as Saturday Night Live UK Hosts
Saturday Night Live UK has confirmed its next three hosts — Danny Dyer, James Norton and three-time Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo — along with musical guests The Streets, Blossoms and Sasha Keable, taking the Sky show to its mid-season break.
Saturday Night Live UK has locked in its next three hosts, with Danny Dyer, James Norton and three-time Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo set to take the reins of the Sky comedy series. The trio will front the episodes leading up to the show's mid-season break, with new instalments not expected until 2027.
The announcement gives the British spin-off of the long-running American sketch institution its most star-heavy hosting stretch since it launched earlier this year. Dyer arrives fresh off a BAFTA win for his performance in Sky's Mr Bigstuff, while Norton is best known for McMafia, House of Guinness and Happy Valley. Erivo, who has been nominated for three Academy Awards, most recently starred in the film adaptation of Wicked.
Musical guests for the same run have also been confirmed. Sasha Keable, who was featured on the NME 100 at the start of the year and released her comeback EP Act Right in 2025, will perform. The Streets are also on the bill, following a series of live dates in which they played their seminal 2004 album A Grand Don't Come for Free in its entirety, and after announcing additional shows for the end of the year. Manchester indie band Blossoms round out the lineup, arriving on the back of frontman Tom Ogden's recent on-stage appearance with Niall Horan and ahead of the release of their sixth album, Songs From The Wedding Cake.
The UK edition of Saturday Night Live returned for its second season earlier this month, having first launched in the spring. Its debut season opened with former US cast member Tina Fey as host and Wet Leg as the musical guest, and has since featured hosts including Jamie Dornan, Riz Ahmed, Nicola Coughlan, Jeff Goldblum, Jamie Demetriou and Amelia Dimoldenberg. Musical acts have ranged from Kasabian and Foo Fighters to Royal Blood, CMAT and Rachel Chinouriri.
The show has generally been well received, though its sketches have occasionally divided viewers. Earlier this year, cast member Ania Magliano addressed controversy over a joke comparing Mark Zuckerberg to Hitler, saying the tech billionaire was «fair game». More recently, Dimoldenberg drew attention for calling Ed Sheeran a «red-headed puppet» during her hosting stint, and the cast also spoofed Oasis as a pair of Russian spies.
With the next three episodes now set, Saturday Night Live UK heads toward its mid-season pause with a lineup that mixes established British screen talent, a major Hollywood name and a trio of music acts spanning soul, indie and UK rap-adjacent sounds. The show is expected to return with new episodes in 2027.
