Fox Entertainment Studios signe un accord de premier regard avec Cottage Industry
Fox Entertainment Studios has signed a first-look development and producing deal with Cottage Industry Entertainment, a new production company founded by Lisa Hamilton Daly and Alysia Cotter Thomas, whose first slate includes a series adaptation of Danielle Steel's novel The Whittiers.
Fox Entertainment Studios has signed a first-look development and producing deal with Cottage Industry Entertainment, a newly formed production shingle led by former Hallmark Media executive Lisa Hamilton Daly and former Warner Bros. and Legendary executive Alysia Cotter Thomas. The agreement gives Fox the opening opportunity to develop and produce projects from the company, which has now unveiled its first slate.
The deal was reportedly struck last year, and the companies have only now revealed the projects that came out of the partnership. The slate includes scripted television series and feature films that are in development. The flagship project is "The Whittiers," a series adaptation of the Danielle Steel novel of the same name. Fox has optioned the book for adaptation, placing the property at the center of the early work between the two companies.
Daly and Thomas bring complementary backgrounds to the new venture. Daly spent time at Hallmark Media, the cable and streaming arm known for its family-friendly and romantic programming, while Thomas worked at Warner Bros. and at Legendary, the production company behind a range of large-scale film and television projects. Their combined experience across network, cable and studio development positions Cottage Industry to pitch a broad range of material to a studio of Fox's size.
The announcement leaves several questions open. The available reporting does not specify production timelines for the series, nor which networks or streaming platforms may eventually carry them. The feature film projects in the slate have not been named. It is also unclear whether Fox will distribute the company's work beyond the terms of the first-look arrangement. Those details are expected to emerge as the projects move forward through development.
For Fox Entertainment Studios, the deal adds a new development partner to its roster of outside producers at a time when studios continue to look for proven literary properties and experienced creative teams. For Cottage Industry, the agreement offers a studio-backed pipeline for its first projects as it establishes itself in the market.
