Disney has released a new poster for its upcoming animated feature «Hexed», a coming-of-age fantasy starring Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones. The poster offers a fresh look at the film, which centers on a teenage girl named Billie who discovers she has secret magical abilities.
According to the film’s official description, Billie’s newfound powers send her to the witch realm of Hexe. There, she and her mother uncover family mysteries that could change the world of witches forever. The story is described as a magical coming-of-age saga that blends spectacle with personal discovery.
The voice cast also includes Jodie Foster and Walton Goggins, adding considerable star power to the project. Steinfeld voices Billie, while Jones plays her mother. The pairing of Steinfeld and Jones anchors the film’s emotional core as mother and daughter navigate the revelations awaiting them in Hexe.
Academy Award-winning composer Kris Bowers is set to write the original score for «Hexed». Bowers, who won an Oscar for his work on «The Last Repair Shop», has become one of the most in-demand composers in Hollywood, with credits spanning film, television, and concert music. His involvement signals that Disney is treating the project as a major animated release with serious musical ambitions.
«Hexed» represents an original story for Disney rather than an adaptation of existing intellectual property. That distinction has drawn attention from animation fans eager to see the studio invest in new characters and worlds. The film’s premise, which combines a contemporary teenage protagonist with a hidden magical realm, fits within Disney’s long tradition of fantasy storytelling while promising a fresh setting in Hexe.
The release of the new poster marks the beginning of the film’s public marketing campaign. Posters are typically an early step in a movie’s promotional rollout, offering audiences a first visual sense of tone and character design before a full trailer arrives. For an animated feature, the poster also showcases the artistic style that will define the world of Hexe.
Details about the film’s plot remain closely guarded beyond the initial synopsis. What is known is that Billie is described as an unconventional teenage girl whose life changes when her abilities are unleashed. Her journey to Hexe sets up a mother-daughter story with stakes that extend to the entire witch community.
Disney has not yet announced a release date for «Hexed». The project joins a busy slate of animated titles at the studio, which continues to balance sequels and franchise extensions with original films. The new poster suggests that marketing for «Hexed» is now underway, with further promotional material expected in the months ahead.
For now, the poster gives audiences a first sustained look at the film’s visual identity and confirms the key talent involved. With Steinfeld and Jones leading the cast, Foster and Goggins in supporting roles, and Bowers handling the score, «Hexed» is positioning itself as a notable entry in Disney’s animation lineup.
