Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan's largest telecommunications operator, has announced ten new investments across film, television and music projects, a move aimed at strengthening the island's original content and connecting local creators with international partners. The company unveiled the slate at a showcase held at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest, known as TCCF.

The portfolio includes stakes in two production companies alongside individual projects. Among the headline titles are the police crime drama Gunshot, starring Kent Tsai, and Call of Lobster, which features Choi Siwon and Chang Chen. The breadth of the slate reflects a push to back Taiwanese original intellectual property across several formats rather than concentrating on a single genre or medium.

Chunghwa Telecom is one of three Taiwanese telecom companies now investing in content. Each of the three funds its content activity through newly launched funds, a structure that allows the carriers to commit capital to creative work as they expand beyond their core connectivity businesses. The sources describing the showcase did not disclose the amounts committed to each project, leaving the scale of the investments unquantified.

Specific production timelines and release dates for the projects were also not made public. The announcement positions the telecom giant as a financing partner for Taiwanese storytellers at a time when regional streaming and screen businesses are competing for locally rooted stories with international appeal. By pairing domestic creators with overseas partners, the company is betting that Taiwanese IP can travel beyond the island's borders.
