Skydance TV's George Cheeks names top executives after Paramount-Warner Bros. merger
Skydance TV co-chair George Cheeks has named his leadership team across studios, entertainment, sports and news following the Paramount and Warner Bros. merger, while Skydance Sports chief Jesse Sisgold exits for a role at RedBird Capital.
Skydance TV co-chair and chief content officer George Cheeks has formalized the division's executive structure, naming the leaders who will report directly to him as the company operates under the combined Paramount and Warner Bros. organization. Cheeks shared the titles and reporting lines in a memo to staff, laying out how Skydance TV will function after the merger.
According to the memo, Cheeks has named 10 top executives spanning the company's studios business, entertainment, sports and news. Part of the restructuring is the creation of Skydance TV Studios, which will officially house Warner Bros. Television Group, led by Channing Dungey. CBS Studios will also fall under the new umbrella, run by David Stapf. In the memo, Cheeks wrote that « reporting to me, these accomplished leaders will work together to advance our strategy », a line that frames the group as a single leadership unit rather than a set of separate fiefdoms.
The restructuring also brings changes on the sports side. Longtime Skydance Sports chief Jesse Sisgold is leaving his post to take an advisory role at RedBird Capital, the investment firm that backs the company. Sisgold previously served as president and chief operating officer of Skydance when it was a boutique production shingle being scaled up by David Ellison. With Ellison now running a much larger media entity following the merger, the reshuffle reflects the broader effort to consolidate operations across the combined company, and Sisgold's move to an investor-side role places him closer to the financial backers who helped build the business.
The leadership announcement is one of the first detailed looks at how the merged company's television operations will be organized. Skydance TV now combines the former Warner Bros. television business with Skydance's production and sports units, while news and entertainment functions are also being brought under Cheeks's oversight. Taken together, the appointments show how the combined company plans to manage a large slate of television production across multiple brands, with Cheeks positioned as the central point of content decisions for the division.
The changes arrive as the merged company works through the practical questions of integrating two large operations, including how responsibilities split between studios that once operated independently. Cheeks's memo was built around the idea of shared accountability among his direct reports, a structure that the company has signaled it expects to shape its creative and business priorities in the months ahead.
